This week's a purposeful week as members of BPGC were heading for Batu Pahat for our annual family camp. The theme for this year's talk is Grow, Glow, Go (3G). Standing in the 3G era, one should be able to withstand all temptations such as the wordly desires. The guest speaker for this year was Rev Koh Soon Meng and his wife. The were trained Behavioural Analyst and social worker. Rev Koh, who shared with us 4 sessions, the main theme about the greatest thing is love. Love is the best thing God has given to this world and it has been misused by people like us. He tells us that, a loving community, would portray a Christ-like community, be it in our community, our church-life, our family or with our social lives.
He commented that Love must have the endurance, attitude somehow plays a part in everything. There are times when our parents/superiors scolded us not because we're in the wrong, they were correcting our attitude in dealing these things. Though you may be right, BUT a wrong attitude can result a bad relationship. If A=1, B=2 etc and etc, then ATTITUDE = 100. Attitude has to be perfect in order to live a harmonious society. Patience is somewhat important in our daily lives, the attitude of patience is the ability to prepare oneself to sacrifice. He mentioned one such possibility would be taking a snail out for a slow walk. Haha!
Everything went on very well as the people who took part from this camp learn a lot. Especially the true meaning of love. Rev Koh uses 1 Cor 13: 4-8 as a guideline to share with us what is true love. He pointed out many of the things that I used to think is love, I'm willing to change because of this and to portray the image of Christ-likeness.
In general, our spiritual was built up by the Word of God through Rev Koh's mouth. Glory to the king who reigns forever and ever. Amen!
