Just watched Ratatouille today with CL. Realized it was some show that you could ponder upon even though its a Hollywood production.

What happened: Gasteau was a famous chef and had set up a restaurant. His passion for cooking inspired this young little rat Remy. Remy isn't an ordinary rat, he has a strong sense of smell and a great culinary skill. He aspire to be a chef one day. Gasteau died one day due to depression caused by a bad remark given by a food critic Ego, leaving his restaurant to his long lost son Linguini. Linguini is not a culinary expert, he could never cook well, it was Remy's help that Linguini gained his fame as a top chef in Paris. As Remy is a rat, his position of being a chef for the Gasteau is very unique. He hid into Linguini's hat to help Linguini to cook. Just as everything went on well, Ego returned challenging Linguini to whipped up something that could please him. With Remy's help, they whipped up a famous peasant dish, Ratatouille.

What's nice about the movie: If you enjoy a comedy movie, this is a movie that you should not missed. Its not only a comedy, but it also had some educational purpose. Especially when Ego commented about Remy's culinary skill, he mentioned something like this "Not anyone can be an artist, but an artist can come from anywhere". If you're still abit kiddy here and there in terms of your heart, you should watch it.

What I've learnt: From this movie, I've learnt an important lesson about being persistent. Though they might be resistant, there might be obstacles, it is the heart and the will of everyone that determines the success and failure. One should not be afraid to step out their comfort zone (Remy leaving his colony to seek to accomplish his dream). Some might say this a cliche, nevertheless I think otherwise. Moreover, no one should be deprived the privilege to do what he wants to do, just like the cute Remy, which kitchen is not a place for rats. I am touched by the art of friendship displayed in the movie, friends forgive each other; true friends help one another; true friends complement each other and true friends accept each other. You may not really agree with me, by this is what I like about this movie.
